Delantal (not village specific)

Beautiful delantal/apron filled with a vast flower garden. Original mayan delantal made from the same fabric used for mayan cortes (skirts). This delantal is adorned with extensive hand-guided machine embroidery creating a lovely flower garden in a variety of colors. It also has stitched-on appliques with silver accenting. This delantal measures 53″ around the waist (from tip of tie to tip of tie), 35″ across the widest part of (at the bottom edge), 18″ across the waist (at the top edge, not including the ties), and 28″ from center of the waist to the bottom edge (length). This delantal has two functional pockets, one of which has an additional ‘inner pocket’. These aprons are a must have for the women of Guatemala. It is very rare to pass through the market and see women that are not wearing an apron, and many times they are this beautiful style.

This delantal is in used condition, with some sign of wear, such as loose threads and thinning of the fabric in a few spots, as well as slight wear on the applique and embroidery. This delantal has a few small repairs to the base fabric just below the waist that blend perfectly with the colors of the fabric. But this does not detract from the beauty of this item. It would look great as a decoration in the kitchen, or as a beautiful, useful apron.
