Santiago AtitlánSantiago Atitlán

Great little boy’s traje or outfit from Santiago Atitlán. This is the classic style for the men and boys from this lakeside town. It is a three piece outfit. The camisa or shirt measures 15” across the shoulders in the back, 17 ½” from the collar to the bottom hem, and the sleeves measure 13” in length. The pantelones or pants measure 18 ½” across the waist (double for full waist size) and 21” from the waist to the bottom hem of the pants. These pants are made square in design and are meant to be gathered at the waist using the faja as a belt. The faja measures 64″ long, not including the fringe which measures an additional 4” on each end. It also measures 5” in width.

This traje is fully hand woven. The camisa has three buttons down the front with a small breast pocket. The collar is accented with a coordinating woven pattern. The pantelones are made in the classic red and white striped Santiago style with colorful accents in a grid pattern on the legs. The faja is woven in a beautiful rose and black design.

All of the items in the traje are in good used condition. The camisa and faja have a few loose threads, and the pantelones have some faint staining in the white section above the designs as well as a few loose threads.
