Super large and different huipil, full of flowers! It is from the town of Sumpango. This daily use modern style huipil measures 39 1/2″ across the shoulders, and 28″ from the neckline to the bottom edges (folded). The neck opening is round and measures 6″ in diameter. The shoulders had previously been gathered and stitched, but the stitching has been removed to extend the huipil to its full size. The area where the fabric had been gathered has some creases where the stitching was taken out.

This huipil is absolutely beautiful with a brilliant machine embroidered flower garden surrounding the collar. This embroidery is done by men on sewing machines, but it is done free-hand. Just amazing! The colors are greens, pinks, blues, purples, yellows and more! The sleeves are accented with matching embroidery. The background is an olive green commercial fabric. This is a very heavy huipil because of the extensive embroidery. It weighs just over 2 pounds. The photos do not show how beautiful this huipil is.

This huipil is in great used condition, the only flaw being the slight creases from where the fabric was gathered and stitched. This huipil is very wearable!
